For spring break, me and two other friends decided to drive up 500mi up to Montreal and then back to Toronto before returning to Buffalo.
Montreal’s a beautiful city with an interesting selection of old architecture. The pace of life there was not so fast and with some of the best weather, we had an enjoyable time exploring and roaming about.
Toronto on the hand was more modern, yet had its touch of elegance and culture.

Headed to Spot Coffee after the shoot with Evan out in the freezing cold and snow storm. And typically ordered this..
I’d bet i’m addicted to this. hahaha I just can’t seem to get sick of it, despite ordering it every time i’m at Spot.
Was down in NYC for a few days and just before we left, i had to head down to St Marks to get my fill of Japanese food. Unfortunately the restaurant i wanted to head to was closed ): so we settled for a Zagat rated ramen noodle place.
Turned out pretty well, a little bit on the salty side but very very good.

Heh. Did a mini-shoot when when i brought Evan down to Glen Falls Park. It was snowing like crazy that day but we still went out like two fools and trudged and bundled through the snow. Amazing fun!

While not exactly to the original recipe, it tasted pretty good. Spicy yet sweet with a strong coconut milk base,
Threw a couple of ingredients together to make this, glass noodles (vermicilli/tang hoon), minced beef, mushrooms, pork balls and vegetables in a beef stock.

Tim brought a whole bunch of us to have pancakes and stuff at the Original Pancake (or as his friend, Pete, calls it "Pan-crack") House.
That’s the Dutch Baby, a pancake shaped like a bowl, that has toppings like butter, powdered sugar, strawberries and strawberry jam. It was yummy!
While the others was having the Dutch Baby, i decided to have a mushroom omelet (and should have asked for cheese – owells next time!) and potato pancakes. Heh kinda hasbrowns but thinner, came with a serving of apple(?) sauce.
Heh so after a rather indulgent and stomach filling lunch and a fun shoot at BCT, whipped up my staple diet of noodles. Just something simple and quick to warm the belly and satisfy the hunger.

After brunch/lunch, headed to BCT as Justin, Cait and myself had not been there before and i thought it was a pretty cool place.
All.. except that hike in and the hike out in shin-deep snow (and at one point knee!) and not wearing my boots =/
But.. i’ll still head back sometime, starting to have some ideas for the place!

It was an experimental dish heh. Not as appetizing as it looks though ):
Well for starters, I cooked way too much pasta, had more than enough for two servings (and finished it all *burrrrpppp*) Not enough sauce/stock, prob might have left it on for a bit too long so it prob did dry up a lil. overall it tasted alright, if you forgave the starchiness of the pasta and sauce. Will prob try it again some other time heh!

..you just have to push harder to get to your goal. Was at the SU with Evan (see picture) and after a while i got bored and headed upstairs to watch the weekly poker tournament.
kinda reflected on the conversations of the past week, about the future, about what would come after graduation, about job prospects and the career paths. So often we are beset about by the fears and the resistance to change that we are held captive by the ’safe’ option.
i just hope i will be brave enough to see through my decisions. while still fearing for my future paths but not afraid to make the moves to get to where I want to be.

Been in a rut lately, just reformatted my mac but still having a bit of problems here and there. Kinda forgot to backup some files too so guessing will have to rework those presets and files from scratch. Snowed quite a bunch over the last two days heh. Guess I have to survive another month like this and pray I don’t end up like a polar bear lol.
Aperture 3 hmm.. me likey! but still some bits of the program bugs me. Guess it might have to wait awhile more before it takes over my LR2. Postprocessed in AP3 and Color Efex Pro 3.0.
